Simply swipe your finger over the sensor during startup and you’re in. You’ll also appreciate the peace of mind provided by the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) security chip. TPM lets you encrypt sensitive data to prevent access by unauthorised persons, including data already encrypted by Encrypting File System in Windows Vista® Business. Encrypted data can only be read after entering the appropriate password. And to guard against loss of data due to shakes and bumps so common to mobile users, VAIO SR includes HDD Protection. This safety feature secures the hard disk head in the event of physical shock, preventing the head from scratching the disk and destroying data.
