The VAIO® AW Series notebook offers a glimpse into the future of solid state drive (SSD) technology. For maximum performance and ample storage, select VAIO® AW notebooks feature a dual channel 128GB3 (64GB X 2) SSD with RAID technology backed by a 500GB hard drive. RAID, or Random Arrays of Independent Discs, coordinates between the two solid state drives to keep them operating simultaneously at optimal capacity. The result is quicker boot-up times, faster application launches and overall enhanced performance.

Blu-ray Disc™ technology
Select VAIO® AW notebooks feature Blu-ray Disc™ technology, and you have two ways of utilizing this entertainment and storage technology. Choose the Blu-ray Disc optical drive for HD video playback2 and up to 50GB of data storage to a single Blu-ray Disc media4 — that's 5 times the capacity of a standard DVD. Or choose the Blu-ray Disc ROM drive to enjoy HD video playback only. Both Blu-ray Disc-enabled drives also deliver the read/write utility of a CD/DVD drive.
